Integrated real-time GeoBIM is the framework for a successful urban digital twin
In this video, you can learn more about my work utilising BIM data for energy simulation and management, it is part of the CDBB ( Centre for Digital Built Britain) research porfolio.
The project will enable will the generation of real-time energy data (both operational and energy from building components through 3-D computing paradigm at an early building design stage, coupled with operational energy input, bringing a new approach to total life analysis of energy and carbon. Such data will allow more accurate prediction of impacts and material substitution by linking both operational and embodied energy in one tool.
The Digital Twin provides both a granular and holistic view of the built environment, answering the need for efficient facility management for both engineers and the maintenance team.
Integration with the BMS makes maintenance planning, space and asset management extremely efficient, providing greater control over the overall property portfolio.
Below is a showcase of such smart building OS.
The mixed reality technologies like immersive VR and AR are often intergrated with Digital Twin. With the help of rendering platforms like the Unreal Engine, clients and other team members can interact with, and control, the digital replica, providing them with a more exciting and realistic understanding of the situation of its physical conterpart.
